Joyal is a loyalty app designed specifically for small and medium-sized businesses. We give business owners the ability to create, manage, and grow their own apps, not somebody else's.
In 2025, two friends and I explored launching a frozen yogurt brand in Ireland. A massive gamble, but after seeing the cult-like success of froyo chains in Australia we thought it may be worth a punt. Ultimately, Irish tax laws made it a financial no-go, but during our research, a completely different problem stood out.
We were shocked by how difficult it was for an independent business to launch and own its own loyalty app. Every option on the market was either too limited, too expensive, or too focused on satisfying end customers and not the business owners paying for the subscription.
We strongly believed that our brand's success would hinge on building and owning our customer relationships. We had all experienced the power of loyalty apps first hand through the frozen yogurt chain in Australia.
After the froyo idea fell apart, I headed out to New Zealand to travel. But with a background in web development, I couldn't shake the loyalty problem. While on the road, I stopped analyzing frozen yogurt and started engineering Joyal. What began as a side project quickly evolved into a full-fledged loyalty ecosystem, designed specifically for businesses that want absolute control.

Big brands don’t rely on shared loyalty platforms. They invest in their own apps. Joyal puts that exact same power in your hands.
No shared apps. No forcing your business into someone else's model. Just a simple way to reward your customers, your way.
Joyal isn’t a private funded company or built by big tech. It’s a small business built for other small businesses.
Joyal was built for small to medium-sized businesses from day one.
I know what it’s like trying to grow something without a huge team, endless time, or money to burn on subscriptions you barely use (because I'm doing it!). So my approach is pretty simple - build useful tools, keep things straightforward, and treat people properly.
I'm building Joyal slowly alongside the businesses using it. Listening to feedback, improving where it matters, and trying to create something that genuinely helps businesses keep customers coming back.
Choosing subscriptions for your business is a big decision. If you want to see how Joyal could work for your business you can explore the app features, or check out our pricing!
