Hi! We’re Seán & Phil
Joyal started with a simple observation.
While travelling in Australia in 2025, we noticed that local businesses - from cafés and bakeries to salons, gyms and barbers - had their own dedicated loyalty apps.
When we returned to Ireland and started exploring our own business ideas, we wanted the same. Instead, we found that having a branded loyalty app was out of reach for most independent businesses. The options were either investing thousands into custom development or joining a shared loyalty platform where your brand sits alongside hundreds of others.
We believed there should be a better way.
Why We Built Joyal
The more we looked into it, the more we realised this wasn't just our problem - it was a challenge faced by thousands of independent businesses. With Seán's background in web development, we knew we had the skills to build a better solution.
Joyal was built with small and medium-sized businesses in mind because we understand the reality of building something from the ground up. Every decision matters, every euro counts, and every customer can make a difference. That's why we created a platform that allows businesses to launch their own branded loyalty app - giving them the benefits of a custom experience without the traditional barriers.
While Seán focused on designing and building the platform, Phil focused on connecting with businesses, creating content and building the community around Joyal. Together, we're continuing to shape the platform alongside the businesses that use it.
