Task 1 of 4 · In Joyal

Make it a booking reward

Joyal needs to know which of your rewards customers use when they book. You only do this once for each reward.

1

Tick Redeemed via booking platform

In Joyal

Open Rewards and tap the reward to edit it, or create a new one. Scroll down and tick Redeemed via booking platform. A grey note appears underneath, pointing you to your Booking settings. Then tap Create Reward, or Update Reward if you are editing one.

Task 2 of 4 · In Joyal

Make your codes

Most booking platforms will take a list of discount codes, but will not make them up for you. Joyal does that part: it makes the codes, keeps them, and gives you the list to copy.

2

Open Discount codes

In Joyal

Go to Settings, then Booking. Near the bottom, Discount codes shows in amber how many of your rewards have no codes yet. Tap it.

Joyal's Settings page with the Booking row marked — **Joyal, first**Settings, then Booking.

The Booking settings with Discount codes marked, reading 1 reward has no codes — **Joyal, then**Discount codes, near the bottom.

If you cannot see Discount codes Switch Booking on first, with your booking link saved.

3

Open your reward

In Joyal

Under Your booking rewards, your reward reads No codes yet, you will send these manually. Tap it, then tap Generate codes.

The Free Sauna Session reward reading No codes yet, marked — **Joyal, first**Every booking reward is listed, with how many codes it has.

The reward opened, with Generate codes marked — **Joyal, then**Generate codes, under the help text.

4

Generate them

In Joyal

Joyal suggests a Prefix from the reward's name, and How many starts at 20, which is plenty to begin with. Tap Generate and the codes fill the box.

The Prefix and How many boxes with the Generate button marked — **Joyal, first**Prefix and How many, then Generate.

The box full of generated codes, marked, with an amber note underneath — **Joyal, then**Twenty codes, one per line. The amber note is Joyal reminding you that your booking platform needs them too.

5

Copy them

In Joyal

Tap the copy button beside Add codes. It turns into a green tick, which is how you know it worked. Always copy first: adding the codes in the next step empties the box.

The copy button showing a green tick beside Add codes, marked — **Detail**A green tick means the codes are copied.

6

Add them

In Joyal

Now tap Add codes. They are saved straight away and listed underneath, so they are safe even if your phone closes Joyal, and your reward now reads 20 codes left. Then go straight to your booking platform: your codes are still copied, ready to paste.

The generated codes in the box with the Add codes button marked — **Joyal, first**Copied, so now Add codes.

The codes listed after adding, with Show all 20 codes marked — **Joyal, then**Saved and listed.

The most common mistake Stopping here. Joyal can now hand your codes out, but they will not work at checkout until your booking platform has them too. Go straight on to the next task.

Task 3 of 4 · In your booking platform

Put them in your booking platform

Now give your booking platform the same discount codes, so they work at checkout. You add all of this reward's codes in one go, and set them up once.

Using a different booking platform? Most work the same way, even if they call discount codes something else, such as coupons or promo codes. This guide uses Acuity's phone app as the example, so your screens may look a little different, but you are looking for the same four things: a list of codes, the discount, one use per code, and the services they cover. If you get stuck, let us know and we will be happy to help.

7

Find discount codes

In your booking platform

Find where your booking platform sets up discount codes. Acuity calls them coupons. In its app, tap Menu at the bottom right, then Appointment Types. At the top of that page, tap Types and choose Coupons.

The Acuity app's Menu with Appointment Types and the Menu tab marked — **Acuity, first**Menu, then Appointment Types.

The Types list open with Coupons marked — **Acuity, then**Types at the top, then Coupons.

8

Start a new set of codes

In your booking platform

Start a new set of codes, and look for the option to add a list rather than just one code. In Acuity, tap NEW COUPON FOR APPOINTMENTS, then Enter multiple coupon codes... under the single code box, and the box becomes a list.

Acuity's Coupons page with New Coupon for Appointments marked — **Acuity, first**New Coupon for Appointments.

The new coupon form with Enter multiple coupon codes marked — **Acuity, then**Enter multiple coupon codes, under the single code box.

9

Name it and paste your codes

In your booking platform

Give it the reward's name so you can find it again, then tap the codes box and paste. Your codes appear one per line.

The coupon's name typed as Free Sauna, marked — **Acuity, first**The name is only for you.

The coupon codes box full of pasted codes, marked — **Acuity, then**All twenty codes, pasted in one go.

10

Set the discount

In your booking platform

The discount must match the reward: 100% off for a free session, or a fixed amount for money off. In Acuity, leave it at 100 and Percent discount, or choose € discount and type the amount.

Each code should work only once. In Acuity, leave THIS CAN BE USED on Each customer can use this once: each code then works once, whoever uses it, and a regular who earns the reward again simply gets a new code.

The discount type list, Percent discount or euro discount, and the amount of 100, both marked — **Acuity**Percent for a free session, euros for money off.

The This can be used list with Each customer can use this once marked — **Acuity**Each customer can use this once: each code works once.

11

Choose its services, and save

In your booking platform

Limit the codes to the services this reward is for. Otherwise a code for a free sauna would also work on your dearest service. In Acuity, tap Any appointment type under CODE APPLIES TO, choose Just these appointment types... and tick the services. Then tap Save Coupon.

The Code applies to list with Just these appointment types marked — **Acuity, first**Just these appointment types.

Only the Open public sauna service ticked, and the Save Coupon button, both marked — **Acuity, then**Only the reward's service ticked, then Save Coupon.

12

Check it saved

In your booking platform

Your booking platform should confirm your codes are saved. Acuity takes you back to Coupons, with a green box listing every code. That is everything set up: now test it as a customer.

Acuity's success message listing the saved codes, marked — **Acuity**Every code in the list will work at checkout.

Task 4 of 4 · As a customer

Test it as a customer

Do this once yourself before your customers do. It proves the whole chain works, and it is exactly what your customers will see, so you will know how to talk them through it.

If you do not have enough points to claim it Set the reward to 1 point for the test, and put it back afterwards.

13

17

Enter the code

In your booking platform

On the details page, look for where the booking page takes a code. It may say discount, promo, voucher or coupon code: in Acuity it is Package, gift, or coupon code. Tap it, paste the code and tap APPLY.

The code pasted into the coupon box with Apply, marked — **Acuity, then**The code pasted in, then Apply.

18

Check the discount, and book

In your booking platform

Notes

Things worth knowing

None of these need action today. They explain how your discount codes behave once they are running.

When codes run low When a reward drops below 5 codes, Joyal sends you a notification and flags it under Action Needed on your Rewards page. Top up the same way: generate more, copy and add them in Joyal, then save them in your booking platform as a new set of codes with the same settings.

If a reward runs out Nothing breaks. Customers can still claim it, and you send each code by hand, as before, until you add more.

One reward, one set of codes Codes belong to the reward they were made for. Each booking reward gets its own codes, in Joyal and in your booking platform.

Each code works once A customer who earns the reward again gets a new code. A code that has been used will not work a second time, for anyone.

Mark as used Once they have booked, customers can tap Mark as used to clear the code from the top of their Rewards page. If they forget, it simply stays there.

Keep your codes to yourself Anyone with an unused code can use it on your booking page, so do not share the list or post it anywhere.
