First-month results from five independent businesses using Joyal

Published October 2026 Data to 26 October 2026 Sample 5 businesses

Summary

Five independent businesses launched their own Joyal loyalty app between 31 August and 16 October 2026: three cafés, a coffee pod and a beauty salon. In its first month, each business's members spent more than €390 with it, ten times the monthly cost of Joyal. Four of the five passed 50 members within the month. Together, members spent €7,314 in the businesses' first months, two of which had been live for only 10 and 11 days when the figures were taken.

1 Key figures

€7,314 spent by members across the five businesses in their first month
516 members joined across the five businesses in their first month
5 of 5 businesses saw member spend above €390, ten times Joyal's monthly cost

2 Method

All figures come from Joyal's own records for each business, counted with the same rules as the spend and member figures on the business's dashboard.

  1. Sample. The five businesses that had been live long enough to measure and launched with posters at the counter and staff inviting customers to join.
  2. First month. The first 30 days from the business's first customer scan.
  3. Members. Customers who joined the business's app. "Came in" means a member was scanned at the till at least once.
  4. Member spend. The amount staff enter when they scan a member, less any corrections. Scans by the owner are excluded.
  5. Visit. One customer on one day, however many times they were scanned that day.

4 Case studies

4.1 Kinfolk, Wexford

An independent café on North Main Street. Before Joyal it used Squid, a shared loyalty app whose dashboard the owners found too confusing to use. Customers were moved across by giving each one the points that matched their Squid stamps.

5 Notes on these figures

  1. Short period. The longest-running business in the sample had used Joyal for 8 weeks. This report will be updated as more months of data build up.
  2. What member spend shows. Every euro here was spent by a customer the business can now recognise, reward and message directly, which a paper card or a shared app never offered.
