Joyal is a loyalty app designed specifically for small and medium-sized businesses. We give business owners the ability to create, manage, and grow their own apps, not somebody else's.
Back in 2025, while spending time in Australia, we noticed something interesting. Local businesses of all kinds, from coffee shops and bakeries to salons, barbers, and wellness centers all had their own dedicated loyalty apps.
When we started looking at setting up our own small business back in Ireland, we wanted to implement the exact same tactic and launch a dedicated app for our brand. But when we looked into software options, the reality hit us fast.
Big companies have the capital to custom-build their own tech solutions. Independent operators don't. Our options were either dropping thousands of euro upfront on custom development, or joining shared loyalty apps where you pay a fee to compete alongside every other business who uses it.
The barrier to having our own custom app wasn't awareness or interest, it was cost and accessibility.
We couldn't shake the problem, and with Seán’s background in web development, we knew we were in a position to try to actually fix it.
We set out to bridge the gap without cutting corners on quality or charging steep development fees.
So, instead of building heavy, expensive apps from scratch for every single business, we engineered a scalable system. We built a core loyalty platform that any business can wrap their own unique branding, rewards, and identity around.
In plain English: you get the full power of a custom app without the upfront development fees or the waiting period for app store approval.
All you need is a logo and an email address to launch a fully branded loyalty program that looks and feels like it cost thousands to build - at a fraction of the cost.

What started as an idea quickly turned into full-time execution.
Seán took on the technical heavy lifting, engineering the platform and making sure it was straightforward for non-tech-savvy business owners to manage.
Meanwhile, Phil got to work building our audience and network from the ground up - creating content, connecting with local communities, and laying the foundations for the merchant network we’re expanding today.
Big brands don’t rely on shared loyalty platforms; they invest in their own apps. Joyal puts that exact same power in your hands.
No shared apps. No shared schemes. Just a clean, simple way to reward your customers, your way.
Now that we're back home in Ireland, we are fully focused on helping businesses navigate this underserved niche.
Joyal was built for small to medium-sized businesses from day one. We know what it’s like trying to grow something without a huge team, endless time, or money to burn on subscriptions you barely use (because we're doing it!). So our approach is pretty simple - build useful tools, keep things straightforward, and treat people properly.
We're building Joyal slowly alongside the businesses using it. Listening to feedback, improving where it matters, and trying to create something that genuinely helps businesses keep customers coming back.
Choosing subscriptions for your business is a big decision. If you want to see how Joyal could work for your business you can explore the app features, or check out our pricing!
